Range of motion (ROM) is the term used to describe the measurement of movement around a specific joint or body part. If you’ve had an injury (sports-related or not) before, you may have had issued with range of motion in the affected area. If you’ve been to see a physio or other medical practitioner before, they likely assessed your range of motion as part of your visit.

I will assess your range of motion at the major joints by way of undertaking a series of simple mobility tests. This will allow me to prioritise which areas we need to address first, based on the requirements and demands of your sport. You will receive a personalised action plan.

The body adapts to whatever you’re asking it to do repeatedly, so it becomes more efficient at it. So this may be adapting – becoming better – to a sport, or adapting to sitting at a desk all day. Rounded shoulders, text neck, tight hips – sound familiar? Might be the symptoms of an office worker, or an elite road cyclist.
